In other local news, a serious collision between a Norfolk Southern train and a Mack truck in Ross County temporarily suspended rail service for five hours Friday, while the truck driver was airlifted with serious injuries. 🇺🇸 Gallipolis honors fallen heroes with Memorial Day tributes. The Ohio city hosted its annual parade along Second Avenue featuring veterans organizations and local high school bands. Following the procession, a solemn service was held at City Park where Marine veteran Ron Wroblewski delivered powerful remarks. 🚂 Train collides with truck in Ross County, leaving driver seriously injured. The crash occurred Friday morning when a Mack truck failed to yield while crossing railroad tracks along state Route 159. A Norfolk Southern train carrying 88 containers struck the truck, causing it to overturn between two sets of tracks. The truck driver was airlifted to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries, while no train crew members were harmed. Train routes in the area were suspended for approximately five hours for vehicle removal and track repairs.

Principal Bray Shamblin praised the 39 graduates for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements that have positioned South Gallia among southeast Ohio's top schools. The graduating class includes 37 traditional students and two SODA program graduates, all poised to continue their success beyond high school.
