Good morning, Gallia County. In a community where even the darkest moments can inspire positive change, local officials are transforming the tragic 2017 child rape case into a teaching opportunity. Their presentation "From Tragedy to Triumph" at Ohio's victim assistance conference will share how rural communities can better serve victims in the aftermath of devastating crimesโ€”proving that even the most painful chapters in our history can lead to meaningful progress.

Beyond our borders, preservation efforts are gaining recognition as local advocate Chris Rizer received the prestigious Michael Gioulis Downtown Preservation Award for his work with Main Street Point Pleasant. Meanwhile, fire officials in neighboring Cabell County are investigating a troubling situation at Brighter Day Ministry Church, where an arsonist struck twice in a single day. Authorities have developed preliminary leads and are asking anyone with information to contact the state's arson tip line.
