⚖️ Maximum sentence for Mason County murderer: 40 years. Ryan K. Marshall was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the February 2024 killing of Sarah Smith in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Smith's body was discovered in her trailer two days after being reported missing, with Marshall quickly apprehended by state police and sheriff's officers. In addition to prison time, Judge Craig Tatterson ordered Marshall to pay $1 weekly to a domestic violence shelter while incarcerated.
