🏗️ Community metamorphosis

Franklin County • October 8, 2025

Good morning, Franklin County. The transformation of familiar landmarks continues to reshape our community landscape this week. The old Kroger building on Refugee Road is now just a memory, making way for the promising Eastland Prosperity Center. This physical metamorphosis mirrors another kind of transformation happening through Operation BRIDGE, where the Sheriff's Office is taking a balanced approach to law enforcement—resulting in 16 felony arrests while connecting vulnerable individuals with treatment rather than just punishment.

Sometimes the most profound changes happen one person at a time. That's the philosophy behind Alcoholics Anonymous in Bellefontaine, where weekly gatherings at First Presbyterian Church offer a judgment-free zone for those seeking recovery. With no fees and a simple requirement of wanting to stop drinking, these meetings represent the quiet power of community support—a reminder that in Franklin County, help is always just a phone call away.
