Good morning, Franklin County. From television stardom to neighborhood bars, trivia prowess runs deep in Columbus. Local couple Ryan and Lauren Manton turned their pub quiz passion into Jeopardy success, with Ryan securing four wins and a Tournament of Champions spot. Their story highlights the vibrant trivia community flourishing throughout the city, where knowledge enthusiasts gather nightly to test their mental mettle over drinks and friendly competition.

The local food scene continues its upward trajectory with the opening of Metsi's near the Short North, where James Beard semifinalist BJ Lieberman brings Italian-inspired cuisine featuring smoke and fire elements to three distinct dining spaces. While the community celebrates these cultural additions, a more sobering development unfolded in Olde Town East, where police are investigating a shooting that left one person critically injured on Oak Street Tuesday afternoon.

🍝 James Beard semifinalist opens vibrant Italian eatery in Columbus. Metsi's, which debuted June 6 near the Short North Arts District, offers Italian-inspired cuisine featuring smoke and fire elements. Owner BJ Lieberman designed the restaurant with three distinct spaces: an upstairs bar inspired by the Italian coast, a main dining room with open kitchen, and a private parlor. The menu includes focaccia, pastas like cacio e pepe, wood-fired entrees, and a cocktail program anchored by Negronis. Named after Lieberman's father, Metsi's aims to be a neighborhood destination serving "approachable food that was elevated in form."
