Good morning, Franklin County. The sun may be rising, but Interstate 270 saw darkness early Sunday when a Ford F-150 collided with a mysteriously stopped Mercedes-Benz. The pickup driver was transported to Mount Carmel East in serious condition, while the Mercedes driver escaped with minor injuries. As investigators piece together why the luxury vehicle halted in moving traffic, both drivers are thankfully expected to recover from this puzzling early morning crash.

Brighter news awaits food enthusiasts as Italian Village finally lives up to its name with Metsi's arrival. Chef BJ Lieberman's authentic Italian restaurant opens June 6th in the former Hiraeth space, complete with wood-fired specialties and classic dishes. Meanwhile, Franklin Park Conservatory is clicking into place with Sean Kenney's "Nature Connects" exhibition, where Lego sculptures transform the venue into a blocky wonderland through September 7th, complete with hands-on activities and building competitions all summer long.
