Good morning, Franklin County. Behind the curtains of local high schools, a theatrical revolution is brewing as twenty-six Central Ohio schools compete for the prestigious 2025 CAPA Marquee Awards. The competition has transformed classrooms into stages where young performers showcase their talents across 13 categories, with Eastmoor Academy, Jonathan Alder, and New Albany High Schools all vying for Best Musical Production. The culmination of this artistic journey arrives May 9 at the historic Ohio Theatre, where tomorrow's Broadway stars will shine today.

Amid these creative triumphs, our community faces sobering challenges. A Donatos employee in Clintonville is recovering after being shot while confronting a car break-in suspect, while two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the tragic shooting death of 14-year-old Lorenzio Galloway. These incidents remind us of the complex reality beneath our vibrant cultural landscape, as Franklin County continues to navigate both celebration and heartache with characteristic resilience.
