Good morning, Fayette County. The crisp autumn air brings with it a celebration of both heritage and future as Greenfield prepares to honor its benefactor during Edward Lee McClain Day on September 27. This thoughtfully scheduled event coincides with homecoming weekend, creating a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the historic school's classic architecture alongside its newly renovated spaces before heading downtown for Oktoberfest festivities—a beautiful blend of honoring the past while embracing community's present.

From scarecrows to cybersecurity, the county faces contrasting developments this week. While the Carnegie Library bustles with seasonal activities for all ages—from preschool pumpkin fun to Japanese art classes—a more sobering situation unfolds as Ohio medical cannabis patients learn of a massive data breach exposing nearly one million records. The incident has already prompted federal lawsuits and investigations, reminding us all of the delicate balance between technological convenience and privacy in our increasingly connected world.
