Fayette County • August 29, 2025
Good morning, Fayette County. The saying "life well-lived" takes on profound meaning when reflecting on Mary Linda Hagar's 80 years among us. The devoted mother, grandmother, and 27-year 4-H advisor left behind a legacy of service, quick wit, and goat herding expertise when she passed peacefully on August 19. Her story reminds us how deeply one person's influence can ripple through a community—from instilling values in her five children to guiding countless young people through her decades of 4-H leadership.
Mark your calendars for a scheduling shift as the Fayette County Board of Health moves its monthly meetings to second Tuesdays beginning in September, while maintaining that early-bird 7:30am start time. And there's new leadership at The Salvation Army in Central Ohio, where Majors Philip and Jodi Lloyd bring their impressive 60+ years of combined service experience to support the 46,000 central Ohioans the organization assists annually. Their academic credentials and upcoming charity events signal promising developments for this vital community resource.
