Good morning, Fayette County. Banking veteran Linda Conrad is stepping into a new role as Hillsboro's Treasurer, bringing an impressive 24 years of financial expertise to city hall. The Highland County GOP appointee—whose resume sparkles with performance awards—will fill the vacancy left by Cristal Kier's resignation while also appearing on the November 2025 ballot. Beyond spreadsheets and budgets, Conrad balances her professional life with family time alongside husband Steve and their growing clan of six grandchildren.
Meanwhile, Greater Life Assembly Church transforms into a community lifeline on July 24, hosting a drive-thru food pantry from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for eligible residents. As volunteers prepare to distribute essentials to those meeting the 200% federal poverty guideline, local emergency responders demonstrated their own community commitment Friday, swiftly attending to a Sabina woman injured when her vehicle collided with a utility trailer on US 22 West near Apple Farm Service.
