Good morning, Fayette County. Did you know that Ohio wheat farmers are fighting battles on multiple fronts? From fungal diseases to market uncertainties, local growers like Mark Frederick and Owen Niese gathered at OSU's Small Grains Field Day seeking solutions amid rising costs and export challenges. Their resilience mirrors the agricultural heritage that continues to define our region, even as international trade representatives work to expand markets—with recent Vietnamese delegations committing to $2 billion in US agricultural products.

Meanwhile, the animal kingdom has a new palace in town as Dr. Daryl Waits celebrated the grand opening of Fayette Veterinary Hospital's expanded facility. The state-of-the-art complex features uniquely decorated treatment rooms and even a drive-thru bay for farm animals. For those interested in preserving our architectural heritage, mark your calendars for July 29-30 when preservation expert David Mertz arrives in Greenfield to offer valuable guidance for historic building owners.
