Good morning, Fairfield County. The art of glassblowing—where sand transforms into spectacular creations through fire and breath—has a new champion in Lancaster. Scott Fouche, an accomplished artist whose work has graced studios across America and Europe, has returned home to lead the Ohio Glass Museum's hot studio. The Bloom-Carroll graduate brings not only his artistic talents but also plans for a mobile studio that will soon bring this ancient craft directly to community festivals and corporate events.
While one door opens, another prepares to close as the Lancaster Farmers Market announces its seasonal finale on October 4th. This last hurrah gives shoppers one final opportunity to stock up on local produce and handcrafted goods before winter. Meanwhile, tiny astronauts can blast off at AHA! Children's Museum, where a new space-themed playhouse has joined their outdoor collection, inviting young imaginations to journey among the stars without ever leaving Lancaster.

A Bloom-Carroll graduate with a fine arts degree from Ohio State, Fouche specializes in creating custom functional and artistic glass pieces while also designing equipment for studios nationwide. Museum Board President Dan Singer praised Fouche's vast knowledge of glass-forming techniques and art history, which he's already sharing through daily demonstrations and glassblowing classes.
