Good morning, Fairfield County. Step back in time through newly published vintage photos of the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival from the early 1980s, when Sharon Brigner wore the queen's crown and Reagan was in the White House. These nostalgic snapshots from four decades ago capture a community tradition that continues to define our summers, even as today's real estate market shows signs of cooling, with median home prices dipping 2.2% to $332,500 in May and total sales down 16% from last year.

The landscape of our county continues its evolution beyond housing trends, with the Ohio Power Siting Board recently approving the massive Eastern Cottontail Solar project. This 220-megawatt facility will transform nearly 900 acres in Walnut Township, bringing renewable energy infrastructure to our community with 64 conditions designed to balance progress with environmental stewardship. The project represents another chapter in our county's ongoing blend of preserving tradition while embracing change.
