🚨 Scam alert savvy

Good morning, Fairfield County. The old saying "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" has never been more relevant as scammers impersonate county officials demanding wire transfers and personal information. County Administrator Aundrea Cordle has issued an urgent alert, reminding residents that legitimate county services never request payments through suspicious channels. When in doubt, contact county offices directly through official numbers – and never share financial details with unverified sources.

While scammers target our wallets, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is targeting young minds – in the best possible way. Thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Fairfield County Foundation, over 66,000 free books have reached local children this year alone. And if literature isn't your weekend vibe, perhaps wine is? Manchester Hill Winery invites you to enjoy live music from Kingston Kings this Saturday night, complete with woodfired pizza, award-winning local wines, and a pet-friendly atmosphere.

County officials have issued an alert warning about unsolicited communications requesting wire transfers or payments for county services. The scammers impersonate county departments and may ask for personal information, threaten immediate action, or use unofficial contact details. County Administrator Aundrea Cordle urges residents to verify any suspicious communications by contacting county offices directly through official channels. Residents should report incidents to the Sheriff's Office and never provide personal or financial information to unverified sources.
