Good morning, Fairfield County. A night of karaoke turned deadly at Buckeye Lake's Louie's Corner House, where Richard Lindgren allegedly shot Benjamin Hawk in the back of the head while Hawk was singing with Lindgren's ex-wife. After fleeing to South Carolina, Lindgren now faces aggravated murder charges with his trial set for October. The shocking incident stands in stark contrast to Lancaster's celebrated musical heritage, where the community's 40,000 residents have welcomed legends like Aretha Franklin and the Beach Boys since 1984.

Behind this musical magnetism is the festival's world-class 63-member orchestra, whose talents extend beyond the main stage through innovative "Out and About" performances bringing classical music directly to places like the Olivedale Senior Center. Sadly, recent flash flooding has forced cancellation of remaining concerts at the Wendel Concert Stage, devastating a festival that typically generates nearly $10 million for the local economy while keeping performances accessible with $45 tickets.
