Good morning, Fairfield County. A century of stories sits nestled within the architectural gem known as the Wagnalls Memorial. This Memorial Day, while many communities honor fallen heroes, Lithopolis will celebrate an institution that has preserved our collective memory for 100 years. After the town parade, visitors can explore this cultural cornerstone through music, wildlife encounters, and even a glimpse into the past via collected historical photos from residents—a fitting tribute to a place that has itself become living history.

The nostalgic pull of tradition continues as Central Ohio prepares for fair season's arrival. From Pickaway County's mid-June kickoff through Fairfield's October finale, the familiar symphony of carnival rides, cotton candy vendors, and prize-winning livestock competitions will once again mark our summer calendar. With over 25 county events plus the grand Ohio State Fair, these cherished community gatherings remind us that some traditions never lose their magic, regardless of age.
