🌪️ Storm survivors

Fairfield County • April 7, 2025

Good morning, Fairfield County. The skies unleashed their fury Wednesday night as powerful storms swept through central Ohio, leaving a trail of scattered debris and damaged businesses in their wake. Downtown Lancaster businesses Fruit Passion and The Wool Exchange barbershop took significant hits, with concrete chunks and "parts of a roof" scattered throughout the area. Yet amid the destruction, there's a collective sigh of relief that no injuries were reported—a reminder of how quickly circumstances can change when nature flexes its muscles.

In brighter developments, outdoor enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the new Lake Logan KOA Journey campground officially opens its doors under the experienced management of Justin Staten and Everstar Outdoor LLC. This fresh destination for adventure seekers expands recreational options in the region. Meanwhile, the justice system has addressed a serious public safety concern, with 19-year-old Sharod Bowers receiving a 6.5-year sentence after bringing a modified automatic weapon to a high school football game last August.

🌪️ Overnight storms unleash destruction across central Ohio. Strong winds and rain Wednesday night damaged multiple structures, including a home in Licking County where a fallen tree took down power lines. In Lancaster, local businesses Fruit Passion and The Wool Exchange barbershop suffered significant damage from the severe weather. "Parts of a roof" and concrete debris scattered throughout downtown, while a third-floor window at the barbershop shattered from flying objects. Despite the damage, business owners expressed relief that no injuries were reported and damage wasn't worse.
