Dublin • October 3, 2025
Good morning, Dublin. Columbus is turning into a culinary hotspot for global flavors, with Caroline's Sandwiches bringing international flair to North Market Downtown. Chef Justin Wotring's pop-up (named after his late niece) features creations inspired by his travels through Lebanon, Spain, and Morocco — from mushroom-based "Mush Love" to pork shoulder "Pig in the Weeds." Meanwhile, restaurateur Josh Dalton is preparing to transform the iconic Milestone 229 riverfront space into a Mediterranean concept connecting Barcelona to Lebanon in spring 2026.
As the temperatures drop, Dublin residents have something spectacular right in their backyard. Columbus was just featured on "The Today Show" as one of America's top fall foliage destinations, with Travel & Leisure highlighting our accessibility (we're within a day's drive for half the country!) and scenic attractions like Hocking Hills Scenic Byway, Quarry Trails Metro Park, and the 2,000-acre Dawes Arboretum. Time for a local autumn adventure!

🥪 Columbus chef brings international sandwich flair to North Market Downtown. Caroline's Sandwiches, created by former A&R Creative chef Justin Wotring, will operate a pop-up Thursday through Sunday at the historic market with no set end date. Named after Wotring's late niece, the concept features sandwiches inspired by his culinary experiences in Lebanon, Spain, and Morocco, including the mushroom-based "Mush Love" and "Pig in the Weeds" pork shoulder creation. Wotring, who will also run the adjacent North Market Butchery, called joining the market "an honor" that allows him to showcase his passion to Columbus diners.
🍽️ Columbus chef to transform iconic riverfront location with Mediterranean flair. Josh Dalton will open a new restaurant at the former Milestone 229 space in spring 2026. The eatery at 229 S. Civic Dr. will feature cuisine connecting ancient coastlines from Barcelona to Lebanon, offering small plates, dips, and reimagined entrees. Dalton, who owns several successful Columbus restaurants including Veritas and SPECK Italian Eatery, will include signature cocktails designed to take advantage of the Center City DORA. The new concept replaces Milestone 229, which closed in December 2024 after 14 years.
