Good morning, Dublin. The path to a bachelor's degree just got significantly smoother for many Ohio families. Ohio State and Columbus State have launched the groundbreaking "Buckeye Bridge" program, eliminating tuition costs for qualifying students with family incomes under $100,000. This initiative transforms the traditional transfer pathway already used by over 1,000 students annually, removing financial barriers that have historically prevented talented students from completing four-year degrees.
Meanwhile, Dublin's urban transformation continues with the ambitious Bridge North development expanding the popular Bridge Street District. The five-building mixed-use project will further establish the area as a walkable, multi-purpose hub. Across the region, Columbus City Schools is celebrating a bright spot amid challenging overall ratings – their career tech programs earned nearly perfect scores in workforce readiness, demonstrating that despite obstacles, the district is successfully preparing students for central Ohio's growing job market.

🎓 Free bachelor's degrees now possible through Ohio State-Columbus State partnership. The Buckeye Bridge program allows low and moderate-income students who complete associate degrees at Columbus State to finish bachelor's degrees at Ohio State tuition-free. To qualify, Ohio residents must have a family income under $100,000, complete the FAFSA by deadline, and maintain full-time student status. The program covers tuition and mandatory fees for up to eight semesters, with more than 1,000 students already transferring between the schools annually. First-generation student Imani Williams praised the initiative for providing crucial resources and support for transfer students like herself.
📚 Columbus schools excel in workforce readiness despite overall low ratings. The district earned two stars out of five on Ohio's school report card but received good marks in the new workforce and college readiness category. Career tech programs scored nearly perfect, matching or exceeding most area schools. Meanwhile, early literacy remains challenging with Columbus City Schools maintaining a one-star rating as many central Ohio districts saw declines in this area. Superintendent Angela Chapman emphasized the importance of programs like "Columbus Promise" that provide free tuition to prepare students for the region's job growth.
🏙️ Dublin's Bridge Street District expands with ambitious new development. Bridge North, a mixed-use project planned by Daimler, will feature five buildings north of the existing Bridge Park area. The development continues Dublin's trend of creating walkable, multi-purpose spaces that combine residential, retail, and commercial elements. This project joins other recent developments in the area, including a retail-focused town square that was previously proposed. Bridge Park has already seen several successful expansions, establishing the district as a growing hub for urban-style living in suburban Columbus.
