Good morning, Dublin. Columbus is about to burst at the seams with weekend activities! From exploring 17 properties during Sunday's Urban Living Tour to joining the Cap City Half Marathon, Independent Bookstore Crawl, or farmers market openingβthere's truly something for everyone. And that's before we even mention the 80s Prom at Natalie's or Opera Columbus's "Marriage of Figaro." Decisions, decisions...
Meanwhile, the skyline continues to transform with the 15-story Pembroke Apartments opening for leasing next month, complete with rooftop pools and an elevated public park. This development comes as Mayor Ginther proposes a $500 million bond package to tackle Columbus's staggering 53,000-unit housing shortage. As the city races to build 100,000 new homes over the next decade, that elevated walkway between buildings isn't the only thing bridging gaps in the community.

ποΈ Downtown Columbus gets a towering new living option. The 15-story Pembroke Apartments at 195 E. Broad St. will begin leasing in May, featuring 164 units above a 278-space parking garage. Residents will share amenities with the adjacent Preston Centre building, including access to a rooftop pool, clubroom, fitness center and pet bathing area. The two buildings are connected by an elevated walkway being transformed into "Preston Park," which will open to the public in October. Developer Edwards Companies plans to install a 75-foot mosaic later this year honoring the site's history, including the former WCOL radio station.
π Columbus faces a 53,000-unit housing shortage crisis. Mayor Ginther has proposed a $500 million bond package for the November ballot to address the growing housing problem in the rapidly expanding city. The mayor pledged to build 100,000 housing units in Columbus over the next decade, part of the region's need for 200,000 units. His plan includes new registries for vacant properties and "flippers," plus assistance for displaced renters.
