Dev Test County • October 6, 2025
Good morning, Dev Test County. Fall in Dallas is bringing more than just perfect weather—it's creating backdrops for both celebration and tragedy. At the Marshall residence, Dallas CASA supporters gathered for a pre-dinner soiree with Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins joining board members and donors in championing the organization's vital child advocacy work. The elegant evening stood in stark contrast to the sobering reality unfolding elsewhere across our community.
The weekend brought devastating violence to our neighborhoods, with a deadly shooting on Ferguson Road leaving one person dead and another injured early Sunday morning. Just hours later, police discovered three more victims in West Dallas on Bernal Drive. As authorities work to piece together what happened in both incidents, these tragedies remind us of the fragility of community safety even as social gatherings across the county celebrate the connections that bind us together.
