🇫🇷 Dallas' newest French bistro brings a taste of Parisian simplicity. Frenchie, opened by Travis Street Hospitality in Preston Center, offers the same authentic everyday French cuisine as its sister restaurant Knox Bistro, but adds breakfast service. Many beloved dishes from chef Bruno Davaillon's now-closed restaurant Bullion have found new life here, including exceptional leeks vinaigrette and massive gougères. The minimalist approach—like a summer tomato tart with just a few quality ingredients—defies Dallas' big-flavor stereotypes while showcasing subtle, delicate tastes that depend on top-quality produce.

🍽️ Dallas crowned world's most affordable city for dining out. A new study by Chef's Pencil found Dallas residents spend just 0.7% of their monthly income on a three-course meal at mid-range restaurants. This week, Dallas foodies can enjoy special events including Negroni Week celebrations, Oktoberfest beer dinners, and a preview of Tallow Steakhouse before it opens in Manhattan. Local restaurants are hosting bourbon tastings, martini pairings, and a fundraiser benefiting families affected by the Texas Hill Country flooding. Dallas also ranked high for affordable coffee and beer compared to 177 global cities.

🦠 COVID strikes again, postponing Tuesday's The Write Stuff event. Turtle Creek Park Conservancy's literary discussion featuring Dr. Evelyn Montgomery and Robert Prejean has been delayed after Prejean tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. Though Prejean offered to wear a mask during the planned discussion about "The Southwestern Medical District: Prehistory to the Future of Medicine," organizers chose to postpone for everyone's safety. TCPC President Tiffany Divis confirmed they will reschedule the informative event about the Medical District's role in Dallas' development. A new date will be announced soon.
