Good morning, Dev Test County. The Lone Star State continues to reach for the stars with Collins Aerospace's $57 million expansion creating 570 new aerospace jobs in Richardson. This Texas Enterprise Fund-backed project further solidifies the state's position as America's top destination for aerospace manufacturing, adding another chapter to Texas's storied relationship with the final frontier.

Speaking of space adventures, legendary Captain Kirk himself is beaming down to Dallas! William Shatner, now 94 and fresh from his own real-life space journey, will appear at the Majestic Theatre on July 30 following a screening of "The Wrath of Khan." While sharing his love for Dallas (and searching for the city's best ribs), Shatner philosophically noted we're currently "on the lip of greatness or destruction" – a fitting observation from a man who's boldly gone where few nonagenarians have gone before.

πŸš€ Texas aerospace expansion to create 570 new jobs. Governor Abbott announced a $3.7 million grant to Collins Aerospace for expanding its manufacturing and research operations in Richardson. The $57 million investment will support the company, which engineers components for space, aircraft, and helicopters. The grant comes from the Texas Enterprise Fund, which targets projects competing against out-of-state locations. Texas currently ranks as the number one state for attracting aerospace manufacturing, positioning it as a continuing hub for aviation and defense industries.

🏠 Texas AG claimed three separate homes as his primary residence. Ken Paxton and his wife signed mortgage documents declaring three different houses as their primary residence, securing lower interest rates and saving thousands. The couple also improperly collected homestead tax breaks on two properties simultaneously, violating Texas law. Paxton, who's running for U.S. Senate, faces scrutiny while his Trump administration allies pursue Democrats Adam Schiff and Letitia James for similar mortgage issues. As Texas Attorney General, Paxton is ironically responsible for investigating the very type of mortgage fraud he appears to have committed.
