Good morning, Dev Test County. Move over, Eras Tour – Taylor Swift tribute band Red is making waves right here at home. After drawing record crowds that outshined last year's headliner at Oktoberfest Dallas, the Texas-based act has scored an encore performance at Flag Pole Hill Park on September 27, with another show at the Dallas Arboretum already building buzz. This local phenomenon proves you don't need to drop thousands on concert tickets to experience a little Swift magic.
While we're celebrating local triumphs, McKinney just claimed a national victory by topping RentCafe's 2025 rankings of America's best rental cities. The Collin County suburb outperformed 149 competitors with its winning combination of affordability, quality of life, and spacious apartments. Meanwhile, Austin-based MML Hospitality is bringing its culinary prowess northward, with plans to open three restaurant concepts across Dallas-Fort Worth by 2027.

🎸 Taylor Swift tribute act Red scores encore at Oktoberfest Dallas. The Texas-based band will return to Flag Pole Hill Park on September 27 after drawing record crowds last year. Exchange Club President Bill Boyd noted the tribute act, led by Lauren Corzine, attracted more fans than the headliner. Red will also perform at the Dallas Arboretum the following Thursday, where their previous show quickly sold out. Oktoberfest Dallas, which began in 2010, will reportedly feature a disco band alongside Red in this year's lineup.
🏙️ McKinney tops America's rental cities, outshining 149 competitors nationwide. The Collin County suburb claimed first place in RentCafe's 2025 rankings by scoring high on affordability (4th) and quality of life (9th). With spacious apartments averaging 948 square feet, consistent job growth, excellent schools, and extensive parks, McKinney offers "small-town atmosphere without sacrificing urban perks." Other Texas cities making the top 10 include Austin (4th) and Round Rock (8th), while fellow D-FW areas Plano, Denton, and Fort Worth all ranked in the top 50.
🍽️ Austin restaurant group brings three hot spots to Dallas. MML Hospitality will open Neighborhood Sushi, Clark's Oyster Bar, and Swedish Hill in Dallas-Fort Worth between 2026 and 2027. The first two locations have secured leases, with Neighborhood Sushi replacing Tulum restaurant in Highland Park and Clark's Oyster Bar transforming a 1960s office building near the Katy Trail. Swedish Hill, a cafe and bakery concept, is still in negotiations but expected to open near Knox Street. Managing partner Larry McGuire, who has been eyeing Dallas real estate for 15 years, believes the city "seems to want and need more restaurants."
