💉 Shots save lives

Good morning, Cuyahoga County. In 1925, over 33,000 American children under five died from diseases we now prevent with a simple shot. That sobering statistic highlights why Dr. Carl Culley's reminder about the life-saving importance of childhood immunizations resonates so powerfully today. While vaccine debates continue, the scientific consensus remains clear: two centuries of successful disease prevention has transformed public health and saved countless young lives.

On a lighter note, the Bard is making his way to dinner tables across Cleveland as Music Box Supper Club partners with Cleveland Shakespeare Festival for intimate cabaret performances featuring iconic scenes from nine plays. Meanwhile, two local men learned the hard way that one person's trash isn't necessarily another's treasure, as they face theft charges after being caught red-handed removing heaters from a dumpster outside a Brook Park business.

💉 Childhood immunizations save thousands of lives every year. Before vaccines were widely available, over 33,000 American children under five died from epidemic diseases in 1925 alone. Dr. Carl Culley highlights that diseases like smallpox, diphtheria, and measles—which killed nearly 12,000 children that year—are now preventable through immunization. He addresses the debunked autism-vaccine link, noting multiple scientific organizations found no connection. Culley argues that abandoning two centuries of successful disease prevention would be "throwing the baby out with the bathwater."
