Cuyahoga County • July 14, 2025
Good morning, Cuyahoga County. In Slavic Village, the youngest voices are becoming the loudest against gun violence. Students from the Boys & Girls Clubs organized a powerful "Stop the Violence" event after losing one of their own, creating memorial cards and connecting with resources from mental health organizations to gun safety advocates. With support from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance, these youth are turning grief into action in neighborhoods disproportionately affected by shootings.
While serious matters unfold in some parts of the county, a more colorful trend is sweeping through local cafes. The vibrant strawberry matcha combination has become this summer's unofficial drink of Cleveland, with spots like Ready Set Coffee and Goodkind reporting skyrocketing sales. The beverage pairs antioxidant-rich ceremonial-grade matcha with sweet strawberry syrups or cold foams, creating a balanced flavor profile that's converting even the most skeptical coffee drinkers to the green side.
