Good morning, Cuyahoga County. The mercury isn't the only thing rising dramatically across Northeast Ohio this week. With temperatures soaring to potentially dangerous levels and heat indices approaching 110 degrees, over 48,000 FirstEnergy customers are facing the double whammy of brutal heat without power to run air conditioning. Cuyahoga and Summit counties have been hit particularly hard, with some areas potentially facing rolling blackouts lasting up to 12 hours as crews work around the clock to restore service.

Meanwhile, law enforcement remains actively engaged across the county. U.S. Marshals have announced a $5,000 reward in their search for Duevelle Anderson, wanted in connection with a 2022 shooting that left a young mother paralyzed and injured her baby. In separate court proceedings, 23-year-old Lavia Paul has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the June shooting of Kiara Jackson near Mill Creek Falls, with her bond remaining at $500,000 as the case moves forward.
