🎵 Cleveland's night remix

Cuyahoga County • March 10, 2025

Good morning, Cuyahoga County. In a city once known as America's "Sixth City," symbols matter – and Cleveland's new "People's Flag" is soaring to impressive heights with its 6.8/10 public approval rating. Artist Shan Rodich's winning design cleverly incorporates that historic sixth-city status with a bold "C" and six-point star, while honoring Lake Erie and Ohio's distinctive flag shape. The red, white and blue creation has impressed so thoroughly that there are already calls for Mayor Bibb to make it official.

The city's creative renaissance extends beyond civic symbols to its nightlife, where women DJs are transforming Cleveland's music scene with their distinctive sounds. From DJ Red-I's hip-hop and Afro-Caribbean blends to DJ NicNacc's community-building dance parties and DJ Dina's international influences, these pioneering artists are breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated industry while adding vibrant new dimensions to Cleveland after dark.

🏁 Cleveland's new "People's Flag" design soars above the old one. The winning flag, created by Aurora artist Shan Rodich, features a bold "C" with a six-point star representing Cleveland's historic status as the nation's "Sixth City." Selected through public voting with an impressive 6.8/10 rating, the red, white, and blue design honors Lake Erie, Ohio's flag shape, and Cleveland's heritage. The new design is so superior to the city's current official flag that columnist Jeff Darcy suggests Mayor Bibb and City Council should adopt it officially.
