No injuries were reported, and residents weren't displaced. Meanwhile, families in Northern Kentucky have reason to celebrate as Cincinnati Children's unveils its first Urgent Care facility in Crestview Hills. The $17.7 million expansion doubles the facility's size and creates 30 new jobs – bringing specialized pediatric care closer to home for thousands of local children.

🔥 Firefighters damage walls to save East Walnut Hills home. Cincinnati Fire Department responded to a small fire in a second-floor bedroom on Gladstone Avenue just after 1 a.m. Sunday. Crews conducted an "aggressive attack" to control the flames, strategically opening walls and ceilings to prevent the fire from spreading further. Fortunately, no occupants were displaced from the home and no injuries were reported. The cause of the early morning blaze remains under investigation by the CFD Fire Investigation Unit.

🏥 Cincinnati Children's brings pediatric urgent care to Northern Kentucky families. The newly renovated Crestview Hills location now features the health system's first Urgent Care in the region, opening July 1 with evening and weekend hours. The $17.7 million expansion doubles the facility's size to over 40,000 square feet and is expected to serve more than 7,500 children annually. Medical providers will treat various non-emergency conditions for patients from infancy through age 21, while the location also adds Sports Medicine services and expands specialty clinics. The expansion creates approximately 30 new jobs and will more than double patient encounters to 100,000 annually.

Jimmy W. Palmer, 80, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away on June 18, 2025, after battling Parkinson's disease and congestive heart failure. Born in 1944 in Indiana, he enjoyed a 37-year career at Cincinnati Floor Company as a Union Carpenter before retiring in 2005. Jimmy married his childhood friend Diana Kay Stroud in 1965, and together they raised three children. Known for his technical skills and mathematical mind, he pursued numerous hobbies throughout his life and was respected for his quiet, humble demeanor. Following retirement, Jimmy and Diana relocated to Arizona where they remained active in community activities and hobbies.

Tasha Felicia Hampton-Twyman

Tasha Felicia Hampton-Twyman, 55, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on June 25, 2025. Born on October 2, 1969, in Cincinnati, she will be remembered during a visitation and funeral service on July 7, 2025, at Walker Funeral Home in Mt. Healthy, followed by interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens. The Hampton-Twyman family invites friends and loved ones to share memories on the tribute wall, with Walker Funeral Home providing care during this difficult time.

Patricia A. Rettig, 89, of Pierce Township, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, two sisters, and her parents Mark and Helen Inlow. Pat is survived by her sister Joyce, four children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on July 2 at T.P. White and Sons Funeral Home, with service and interment to follow.

Jean Ellen Guthrie

Jean Ellen (Blythe) Guthrie, born August 9, 1941, was an ordained minister who integrated her workplace as the first Black office worker in the Cincinnati area and served in various church roles including Elder, Teacher, and Evangelist. She attended Southern Ohio Business College as an honor student and the first Black Student Council President, Cincinnati Bible College for Christian Education, and Cincinnati Christian University's "Impact" Seminars. Jean was dedicated to volunteering, giving her time to organizations like the City Gospel Mission, Center for Peace Education, and the Red Cross, where she received recognition for 20 years of service. She is survived by her daughter Jill Ronique Guthrie and preceded in death by her son Todd Blythe Guthrie.

Charles Mette, a 60-year-old diesel mechanic from Springfield Township, Ohio, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2025. A lifelong resident of the Cincinnati area and Clermont Northeastern high school graduate, Charles worked for Ryder Trucking for 38 years and was known for his quiet strength, reliability, and loyal nature. He is survived by his companion Kelli Coffey, his children Alivia, Benton and Dually, and several siblings, while being remembered for his warm smile, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Charles enjoyed cars, racing, animals, tractor shows, and flea markets, and his family will hold services on July 1st at Strawser Funeral Home.

Harold Siekbert, 89, of Milford, Ohio, passed away on June 26, 2025, after dedicating over 50 years as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Milford. He was married to Shirley Mae Siekbert for nearly 71 years, creating a home centered on faith and family. Harold is survived by his five children, four brothers, 17 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and deep love. A visitation will be held on July 2, 2025, at Batavia Baptist Temple, followed by funeral services and interment at Graceland Memorial Gardens.

Donald "Don" R. Pabst, a Design Draftsman who passed away on June 26, 2025, at age 86, was known for his appreciation of life's simple pleasures. He cherished childhood memories of his grandparents' farm in Indiana and maintained a lifelong love of the outdoors, particularly fishing. Don was an enthusiastic Ford and NASCAR fan who also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and visiting Price Hill Chili. He is survived by several cousins and extended family members, with services scheduled for July 2, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cincinnati.
