Good morning, Athens County. From the halls of Ohio University to the corridors of power in Washington D.C., local talent continues making waves. Political science senior Kinga Turoczi has secured the prestigious Jeff Finkle Internship at the National League of Cities, where she'll tackle economic development challenges—particularly housing shortages—before beginning her MBA journey. This partnership highlights the growing connection between Ohio University and national leadership opportunities.

Beyond campus achievements, community compassion flows through church halls across Athens County, where free meal programs are serving more than just food. With local food insecurity rates exceeding state and national averages, these gatherings nourish both bodies and social connections. Meanwhile, Dr. Lucy Bucher at OhioHealth is shedding light on perimenopause—that mysterious "on and off ramp" to women's reproductive years—encouraging those experiencing new symptoms to seek help rather than suffering in silence.

🔄 Perimenopause remains a mystery for millions of women. OhioHealth's Dr. Lucy Bucher is advocating for greater awareness of this natural transition that can begin up to a decade before menopause officially starts. She describes perimenopause as similar to puberty—both representing uneven "on and off ramps" to women's reproductive years. Many patients seek her help understanding what symptoms are normal and how to manage discomfort during this phase. Dr. Bucher encourages women experiencing new symptoms to consult healthcare providers rather than suffering in silence.
