Good morning, Athens County. Did you know up to 80% of women experience perimenopause symptoms without recognizing what's happening? Dr. Lucy Bucher at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital likens this mysterious transition to puberty—neither follows a predictable path. The good news: effective treatments exist for those experiencing new symptoms, and Dr. Bucher encourages women to consult healthcare providers rather than suffering in silence.

From health mysteries to gaming paradise—Ohio University's new RGB living space in Boyd Hall is transforming student life for esports enthusiasts. First and second-year students now have until May 5 to secure spots in this competitive gaming hub. Meanwhile, the Kennedy Museum of Art invites visitors to see the world differently through its "Through a New Lens" exhibition, where a dinosaur skull shares space with a Victorian wedding dress in a thought-provoking collection opening April 11.

👩‍⚕️ Perimenopause remains a mystery for millions of women. Dr. Lucy Bucher, OB/GYN and vice president at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital, emphasizes this transition period can begin up to a decade before menopause officially occurs. She compares the process to puberty—neither transition is "smooth, direct or predictable." Many women struggle with understanding which symptoms are normal and what can be done about their discomfort. Bucher encourages women experiencing new symptoms to consult healthcare providers, as effective treatments exist despite perimenopause being a natural process.
