Good morning, Athens County. They say timing is everything, and for Ohio University senior Maddie Kiefer, the stars have perfectly aligned. While many students are still polishing résumés, Kiefer has already landed her dream job at Montana's KPAX-TV, combining her passion for storytelling with her love of mountain landscapes. Her WOUB experience—leading Gridiron Glory coverage and anchoring NewsWatch—proves that in Athens, professional-level opportunities don't wait until after graduation.
The sweet sounds of jazz will soon fill Glidden Hall as OU's Jazz Ensemble II takes the stage on March 20, 2025. This free concert, featuring a delightful mix of music majors and talented enthusiasts, offers the perfect midweek cultural escape. Under Matthew James' direction, the ensemble promises to deliver toe-tapping big band classics as part of the broader Athens Jazz Festival—another reminder that our college town punches well above its weight in cultural offerings.
