A weird fruit festival + tragedy + traffic chaos 🍈
Good morning, Athens County. It's been a heavy weekend in the county — an Ohio University student was found dead at McDavis Hall Sunday, and a motorcycle crash in The Plains claimed another life. Both investigations are ongoing, and our thoughts are with the families. On the Nelsonville front, a demolition project is about to shake up traffic on West Columbus Street starting Monday, so plan your routes accordingly.
When you're ready for something lighter, the week's calendar more than delivers — Children's Storytime kicks things off Tuesday, followed by a Bluegrass Documentary Screening and, perhaps most importantly, the Ohio Paw Paw Festival on Wednesday. If you've never tasted a paw paw, consider this your sign. Fresh real estate listings and local sports scores are inside too.
