Good morning, Athens County. Here's a win worth savoring: Produce Perks at the Athens Farmers Market just secured its funding, which means SNAP recipients can keep loading up on fresh, local produce without sweating it. Small program, big difference. On the national front, Washington is in full brawl mode — ACA enrollment disputes, Arctic security deals, and Wall Street playing its favorite game of "AI optimism vs. reality check" with the Nasdaq hitting record highs anyway.
Meanwhile, a grand jury declined to recommend charges in Nolan Wells' death, and his family isn't letting that be the final word. On a lighter note, Athens has a packed weekend ahead — country music, a family concert, and the Gender-Affirming Fall Fest all land within 24 hours of each other. Fresh real estate listings are inside too.
