Appalachian superstitions, junk art & 4 book clubs 👀
Good morning, Meigs County. Pomeroy is still wringing itself out after serious flooding left roads, homes, and routines turned upside down — a reminder that cleanup is always slower than the storm itself. While crews work to put things right here at home, the wider world is doing its own version of damage control: U.S.-China trade tensions are on a two-month pause, Gulf tensions are flaring again, and Wall Street is ending the week in a bit of a shrug.
When the headlines feel heavy, it helps to have something to look forward to — and this week delivers. Book lovers have two clubs on deck, needlework fans have a social Thursday, and fresh real estate listings are waiting inside. Financial Friday has a smart budgeting tip worth stealing too.
