350 jobs, a wild goose chase & strawberry everything 🍓
Good morning, Ross County. Paper is making a comeback in Chillicothe. U.S. Paper Mill has taken over the former Pixelle facility and is actively hiring — with priority going to the workers who were displaced when the plant shut down in August. "The Chief" (Paper Machine 12, for the uninitiated) is being revived, and up to 350 new jobs could follow within the year. That's the kind of local headline worth savoring. On a rougher note, a Mustang left U.S. 35 and struck a Jefferson Township home, sending three people to Adena with serious injuries.
Wall Street had a turbulent week as bond yields climbed and rate-hike nerves crept back in. Closer to home, the weekend lineup includes a Community Quilt Show, Drop-In Art Session, and Strawberry Shortcake Storytime — plus fresh listings and local sports results inside.
