One street went underwater. One sale might heal it. πΈ
β
Good morning, Athens County. August delivered a reminder this week that nature doesn't negotiate β flash flooding swamped Athens on the 11th, leaving Richland Avenue completely underwater and both city and county crews scrambling to pick up the pieces. Recovery is underway, and Mayor Patterson's office is on it, but it's been a tough stretch for the region.
On a sweeter note, the Athens County Humane Society is kicking off its annual mum sale, which is essentially the most wholesome fundraiser imaginable β buy fall flowers, help local animals, everybody wins. Nationally, tariff threats and Iran sanctions are keeping markets on edge, so maybe a little flower shopping sounds even better right now. Fresh local real estate listings are inside too. Let's get into it.
