Family's welfare check led to grisly discovery, murder charge against Columbus man
🔪 A welfare check uncovered a horrifying murder in Columbus. David Holmes, 31, is charged with killing 67-year-old Randelle Bowman, whose family found her body rolled in a rug in her basement with her throat slit. Investigators say warning signs emerged days earlier, including Holmes threatening Bowman in front of a home health care worker and acting "extremely nervous" when family visited. Police found large amounts of blood throughout the home along with cleaning supplies, allegedly used by Holmes to cover up the crime. Father charged after toddler fatally shoots himself with unsecured gun in home
🔫 A 21-month-old is dead after finding his father's unsecured gun. Jashawn Butler shot himself Saturday night in a Columbus, Ohio home after his father, Deshawn Butler, stepped away from an open gun safe without realizing it hadn't been fully closed. Despite CPR efforts from family members and emergency responders, the toddler died just after midnight. Butler now faces felony child endangering charges, along with a troubling history of domestic violence allegations involving guns, including threatening multiple women with firearms and, in February, threatening to punch his other son.
