A 5th-gen family secret is keeping Oktoberfest alive πΊ
β
Good morning, Franklin County. Hundreds of Columbus runners laced up this weekend for something bigger than a personal record β the BuckeyeThon 5K at Ohio State raised funds for pediatric cancer research, proving this city shows up when it counts. On a harder note, a shooting on Parsons Avenue left one person in critical condition early this morning, and investigators are still piecing things together.
On the cheerier end of the spectrum, Columbus is raising a stein β the 60th Oktoberfest celebration is back at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, and fifth-generation Schmidt family member Drew Karram is helping lead the charge. Nationally, the jobs report is turning heads and diesel prices are climbing. When you're ready to get out of the house, the Events section has a record fair and train station tour calling your name.
