On Aug. 1-2, GuardCare 2026 set up at Ohio University in Athens County, offering medical, dental, vision, and mental health services at no cost to patients regardless of income or insurance status. Over two days, 22 healthcare providers completed roughly 2,530 procedures — valued at more than $192,900 — while also sharpening their own clinical skills. Flat track racing kicks up dust at Athens fairgrounds
🏍️ America's oldest extreme sport is thriving in small-town Ohio. Flat track motorcycle racing returned to the Athens County Fairgrounds on Aug. 21, drawing multi-generational families who live and breathe the sport. Among the standouts: sisters Sierra, 9, and Kiley "Smiley Kiley" Litten, 8, who are fifth-generation flat trackers and have been riding since age four.
