OU protest cases resolve with community service
✊ Two OU protest cases dismissed after community service completion. Criminal charges against two Ohio University students arrested during an April Board of Trustees protest were dropped in June and July, with each defendant paying $110 in court costs and completing five hours of community service. The students were arrested after allegedly refusing to leave Walter Hall during a demonstration over OU's compliance with Senate Bill 1, ICE policies, and Israeli investments. One defendant described the arrests as part of a broader national crackdown on pro-Palestine activists, and still faces a separate university conduct case.
