A 10-year-old's comeback story will give you chills 🥹
Good morning, Delaware County. Ten-year-old Wil Schroter was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at age 6, missed an entire basketball season while doctors searched for the right treatment — and is now gearing up to be the hype man for mile eight of the Columbus Marathon. His family's fundraising campaign for Nationwide Children's Hospital has already cleared $8,000, which feels like the most Delaware County thing to happen all week. Meanwhile, Judge Randall Fuller just landed a seat among only five judges statewide chosen to lead the Ohio Judicial Conference, capping decades of innovative work in family law.
On the national side, Wall Street had a jittery week and cybersecurity headlines are worth a read. Closer to home, Children's Story Time, Uptown Friday Night Festival, and winery live music are all on tap — plus fresh listings in Real Estate.

Schroter to serve as marathon mile champion
⚾ A 10-year-old with arthritis will be Columbus Marathon's ultimate hype man. Wil Schroter, a Delaware, Ohio student diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at age 6, will champion mile eight of the Oct. 18 Columbus Marathon as one of Nationwide Children's Hospital's 24 mile champions. After missing a basketball season while doctors worked to find the right treatment, Wil returned to sports pain-free and now credits his love of the game for motivating him to overcome his fear of needles.
