Plus measles is back & your social calendar is about to get stitched up 🧵
Good morning, Meigs County. Measles cases are climbing across Ohio, and Meigs County is on the map — so vaccination conversations are worth having again at the kitchen table. On a much more celebratory note, Eastern's Aedre Ault is heading to Ohio State to play softball, which is the kind of hometown-kid-makes-good story that deserves a standing ovation and maybe a bumper sticker.
Nationally, August hiring jumped to 162,000 jobs, Wall Street got a little jolt of confidence, and U.S. factory activity quietly cooled — the economy doing its usual "good news, bad news" shuffle. Closer to home, the social calendar is stacking up nicely: needlework, book club, and quilting are all on deck this week. Fresh real estate listings are inside too.
