Good morning, Athens County. Nelsonville's political drama just leveled up — recall petitions have officially been filed against the charter City Council, adding another chapter to the ongoing dispute over who's actually in charge over there. It's the kind of local governance saga that's hard to look away from. On a quieter front, Ohio House District 94 candidate Kevin Ritter sat down to talk policy, which is refreshing in a news cycle dominated by state dinners and war-powers votes in Washington.
Tonight's a good reason to step away from the headlines — the Athens Summer Concert Series and Gender-Affirming Fall Fest both land on the 25th, with Ashley McBryde bringing country energy on the 26th. New home sales are surging nationally, and today's Financial Friday tip on cash-back cards is a genuinely easy win. Fresh listings are inside too.
