Ohio Helps Fund Cleveland Housing Innovation District
🏘️ Cleveland scores $2M to build 200 new homes on the near-East Side. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced $14 million in statewide grants on Sep. 9 through the Residential Economic Development District program, with Cleveland landing one of the larger awards. The funds will support Cleveland's Housing Innovation District, spanning the Central, Hough, and St. Clair-Superior neighborhoods, and complement a tax increment financing mechanism approved by City Council in August that could generate up to $182 million over 30 years. The district is designed to meet housing demand driven by Amazon and city investments in the area.
