One chain's gone, one program's on pause, and fall just showed up π
β
Good morning, Franklin County. After 54 years of rolls and ranch dressing, O'Charley's has officially left the building β all of them. The casual dining chain shut its doors for good on September 9th, including its Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester locations, with employees reportedly getting just one day's notice. Rough exit for a decades-long staple. Closer to home, Columbus is pumping the brakes on its license plate reader program after an officer allegedly misused the system, raising some serious questions about oversight.
On a lighter note, fall is creeping in just in time for this weekend's Pumpkin Painting Party β check the Events section for that and the Ohio State vs. Penn State matchup on September 10th. Sports scores and fresh Real Estate listings are waiting inside too.

OβCharleyβs Is Closing Every Restaurant, Including Central Ohio Locations
π O'Charley's is shutting down every last restaurant β for good. The 54-year-old casual dining chain closed all remaining locations on Sept. 9, including its final two Columbus-area outposts in Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester. The abrupt end came with no corporate statement, as the company's social media accounts went dark and employees reportedly learned of the closure just one day prior. Financial warning signs had been mounting β parent company Cannae Holdings reported a 13% drop in same-store sales in Q2 and had been "exploring strategic alternatives." The fate of gift cards and hundreds of employees remains unclear. Read more
