Junk, folk, and a foldable iPhone at $1,999? Big week 🎸
Good morning, Meigs County. Amazon's branded Boeing 767 went down near Miami over the weekend, and yes, that dominated national headlines for good reason. Meanwhile, employers added 162,000 jobs in August, Apple just priced a foldable iPhone at $1,999 like that's a totally normal thing to do, and U.S. manufacturing quietly hit a rough patch — factory managers are not having it.
Nvidia's $12.9 billion bet on AI company Hugging Face is also turning heads, though it somehow keeps showing up in this newsletter like a recurring character. On a lighter note, the local events calendar this week is genuinely fun — Junk Journaling, Without Papers live, and Megan Bee's Folk-Americana are all worth circling. Fresh real estate listings are inside too whenever you're ready to browse.
Nestled on 1.2 peaceful acres near Pomeroy, this beautifully remodeled 1,788 sq ft raised ranch blends quiet country charm with a surprisingly easy commute to major employers!
