Good morning, Cuyahoga County. A $100,000 settlement, a Health and Human Services fund dipping below its legally required reserve, and a county General Fund that could follow suit by 2026 — Cuyahoga's finances are sending some uncomfortable signals that deserve a close read this morning. The silver lining? Cleveland Clinic just opened two shiny new research buildings inside the Cleveland Innovation District, because this county never stops swinging for the future.
Nationally, oil prices are rattling markets again, drone tariffs are adding heat to an already crowded trade fight, and Ford is churning out Super Duty trucks at a 20-year high — blue-collar optimism in action. Closer to home, Oktoberfest taps the kegs Thursday, Ragnarok Storytelling kicks off Friday, and fresh real estate listings are inside if the weekend has you dreaming bigger.
