Good morning, Cuyahoga County. A local family is accusing Enbridge Gas of destroying evidence within 24 hours of the Rainbow Terrace apartment explosion that killed 31-year-old Cordale Sheffield — and the lawsuit they've filed is asking a jury to sort out what really happened. Closer to the rink, a volunteer who stepped up to help Holy Name's hockey team fundraiser allegedly stepped into their bank account instead. And for the first time since 2005, the county's developmental disabilities levy is heading to voters this November.
On a lighter note, the weekend events calendar is genuinely fun — K-Pop Warriors hit the dance floor Thursday, and Metroparks is hosting a beach ride fundraiser on horseback. Fresh real estate listings, local sports scores, and this week's obituaries are all inside.

Lawsuit alleges Enbridge destroyed evidence after deadly Rainbow Terrace explosion in Cleveland
💥 A Cleveland man's family says Enbridge buried the truth — literally. The estate of Cordale Sheffield, 31, has sued Enbridge Gas in Cuyahoga County Court, alleging the company cut and removed gas system components within 24 hours of the June 23, 2025, Rainbow Terrace apartment explosion. Sheffield died from severe burns suffered in the blast. The lawsuit claims Enbridge's swift removal of evidence prevented investigators from assessing the gas piping's condition, and seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, and a jury trial.
