Good morning, Franklin County. Justice moves slowly — a Columbus officer's guilty plea to reckless homicide arrives nearly four years after a 2022 fatal shooting, and the city is still processing what accountability looks like. On a lighter note, the local startup scene is quietly becoming something to brag about — Beam Benefits co-founder Alex Frommeyer just pulled in a $21 million seed round to shake up how employers handle health insurance. Columbus is building.
Tragically, a gunshot victim at St. Ann's Hospital didn't make it, and homicide detectives are now on the case. On the global stage, Nvidia just dropped $12.9 billion on Hugging Face — AI money never sleeps. When you're ready for a palette cleanser, the Events section has a groovy September lineup, and Financial Friday is preaching the gospel of automated savings.
